Blanket Motion
I selected this photo because I like the section of blanket that isn't blurred. Compositionally, there is Rule of thirds because the blanket falls at the intersection of the bottom third of the photo. Also there is leading lines shown by the motion of the blanket to the lines of the brick into the lines of window and bottom metal piece. To take this photo I had the camera set on an aperture of f/5 and 1/100 of a second.

Double Exposure
This photo was taken for the studio portrait and painting with light (Double Exposure) assignment.
What I like about this photo is the mysterious, pondering look on Jake's face with the little bit of red and blue around him. My point of view was straight on. The photo follows the leading lines because you notice Jake in the center then the red blue and purple bringing the viewers eyes in a circle back to Jake. The shutter speed was set to 5 seconds for the painting with light assignment and the studio portrait assignment the light was coming from the light, illuminating only the side of Jake's face. |
